The large Hickory nut tree to which these leaves belong was broken at the midpoint of it's trunk in late summer by high winds. I recall finding the upper half of this tree blocking the trail one morning, with the leaves still fresh and green. Now they are indistinguishable from the remaining leaves on still living but dormant trees. These leaves however have seen their last Autumn.

Day 313 > Hickory Leaves
The large Hickory nut tree to which these leaves belong was broken at the midpoint of it's trunk in late summer by high winds.
